Help Slow the Spread of Covid-19

As of today both Clift and Thayer Parks remain open.  The Village of Skaneateles asks that when visiting our parks and public spaces and in order to slow the spread of the cornovirus, please keep at least six feet away from others. Do not gather in groups.  If a park or public area is congested, avoid it.  In addition the County of Onondaga Health Department encourages the wearing of facemasks while in public.  Please respect our Police Department as they discourage behavior that may spread the coronavirus.  Also regularly visit the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) websites for statewide and national news about COVID-19.

The Village Board and office staff are here to help during this time. If you have any questions or concerns that need to be addressed, please call 315 685 3440, or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

The Charlie Major Nature Trail,

Tennis Courts, Basketball Courts & Volleyball Courts in the

Town of Skaneateles

The next 2 weeks are crucial to stop the spread of COVID-19 and we must do our part to avoid group activities during this time. Group activities and traffic have been too high in these areas.

We look forward to re-opening these facilities as soon as possible for residents to safely enjoy.

The County Executive has asked for a voluntary shelter in place and if you must leave your home for groceries or exercise to do so on your designated days and follow all social distancing recommendations to include wearing a mask or other facial barrier protection.

  March 18, 2020 -

Village Hall is physically closed.  In-person business is by appointment only.  Please call our departments to determine if we can handle your needs without a visit to the office.

 March 16, 2020

Beginning the week of Monday, March 16th, the Village of Skaneateles will begin taking proactive measures to ensure the health and safety of Village employees, residents and visitors while we navigate the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Village Hall will continue to be open and staffed, but we will be allowing some Village Office employees to work from home in order to minimize in person contact in our office.

At this time, we also ask that any member of the public who needs to contact Village Hall or a staff member do so by phone rather than an in person visit, when possible.  This will help ensure the safety and health of both the staff and visitors to the office.

If residents are dropping off a utility bill payment, we kindly ask that you utitlize the drop box located on the side of the building.  Bills can also be paid by mail and online.  Please contact the office if you have difficulty getting your payment to us.

Our Board Chairs will be making decisions about how to conduct meetings and structure agendas.  Updated information will be posted on the website.

We will do our best to share any and all relevant information with you as the current situation develops.  Should you have any question or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.  The health and well being of the Skaneateles community will continue to be our most important priority.
